From the Post Manager
We are all in hopes that Post # 305 will be opening soon. Of course we are not sure when that will be. We will continue to be in compliance with our Governor and Presidents decisions as they are made. Keep informed by the following communications made on Social media updates on Face book sites at Caledonia Legion or American Legion Post 305 In addition your Legion calendar & web site at www.caledoniaamericanlegion305.weebly.com. If anyone has questions, Please contact me or send an email to [email protected] Or call 616-891-1882 - I will be checking answering machine occasionally. At this time some of our activities for May have been canceled or postponed due to the Covid 19 regulations. Here at the post we are doing whatever it takes to keep our staff, members and community healthy. When we are able to resume business, please be courteous and compliant of the rules that will be in place for all of our safety. Our Legion will need everyone who is able to help out and keep this establishment a float. The Legion would like to express a “BIG THANK YOU!”, to the members that were able to donate some money during these difficult times. It has helped to continue to pay our minimum monthly bills while no revenue has been taken in. If anyone is able to help further in making a monetary donation the Legion urges you to please do so. It would simply be a tragedy not to have our Legion around in the future. Our staff is excited to see everyone and will be providing services to the best of their abilities once we are open again. We would also like to say “Thank you” to all staff for your patience and loyalty! These difficult times are giving us the opportunity to look inward, reflect on what truly matters, and connect with ourselves and our loved ones on a deeper level. Stay strong Stay Safe Take care of each other ……………………………………….Cami Sterken, FROM THE LEGION COMMANDER Hello Legion Family, I first want to start off by saying I hope everyone is safe during this terrible crisis our country is going through, but through resilience we will get through this and once again get our normal lives back. I ask for everyone to please contact any of our more elderly members to ensure that they have what they need to survive. If we have any member that might need assistance please contact me and we will see what we can do for those individuals. As for Legion Operations, we have taken every mitigation to keep our cost to a minimum while our doors are closed. We have also applied for the Small Business Loan(Grant) that the government offered and we also took out a small line of credit for emergency reasons if this crisis lasts longer than expected. I want to thank the Sons of the American Legion for their donation, as well as the other anonymous donors. These donations give us a life line to keep our Legion going. As of right now we expect to have our meetings in May. Of course we will abide by the Federal and State guidelines at that time and make the appropriate decisions at that time. We will be having a Memorial Day Ceremony, but at this time we are planning for the regular yearly event and we also are planning for a much smaller event depending on the situation at that time. We will keep everyone informed on the situation. Also, until further notice all raffles will be suspended and will continue after we have avoided this crisis. Look forward seeing you at the Legion again as soon as possible. God Bless You All and Stay Safe! “Veterans Still Serving” . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Daniel Yablonski
Hope everyone is doing ok . We look forward to serving our Veterans and community again in the future. Take Care of one another!
